The breakfast-to-lunch ratio has been steadily declining. But don’t worry, it’s not your fault. Unless you’re using that newest, healthiest, and wealthiest sounding low-fat cheese substitute you’ve seen on television or in the supermarket a lot of people still prefer their oatmeal. There are many reasons to go back to breakfast, even if you don’t have any immediate plans to follow it.

Breakfast Cereal Has Been Known To Increase Your Metabolism By As Much As 30% Better than your average bowl of cereal, a full English muffin makes for a convenient, healthy meal. Who would want a plate of brownish mush? It helps build up your metabolism and helps clear out toxins from your body.

If you’ve been doing a lot of research into intermittent fasting, I am sure you will agree that having a large (maybe even double) full high protein meals in the morning is key to the results. So if you want to be able to stick to any type of dieting plan and stay with it, make sure you get a full serving of protein in the morning.

The typical eight o’clock breakfast really isn’t a “regular morning”. It is only a time for you to settle in, find something to drink, and receive all of the vitamins and nutrients that you’ll need in the morning.

The Ratio Is Important

You won’t be able to eat a piece of fruit if you eat that three piece muffin for instance. You won’t be able to eat an apple or a bag of corn flakes, if you eat that with butter and jam. So just because it’s your “first” bite in the morning doesn’t mean you should have it anywhere but in your mouth.

Once you decide to have breakfast each morning, that’s a meal and a snack for the rest of the day. You may find yourself thinking, “Why do I still eat that when I know it’s not healthy?” If you really think about it, you’ve been eating it for years. So why would you try to stop?

Eventually, you can have a whole egg, porridge, or whatever it is that you like. Only that you have to know where to find it. You don’t want to go back to waking up, having your coffee and not getting a good breakfast.

Similarly, if you are not having breakfast often, you can’t make dinner plans. And your entire day is centred around eating breakfast. Even if you have breakfast at home, you’ll find it easier to make a grocery list and pull into the grocery store.

Try asking your friends or family what they do for breakfast. They’ll probably be happy to tell you about their breakfast or lunch. It’s actually fun to compare, so keep an open mind and find out what others like to eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Few Tips Regarding Your Breakfast

Morning Snacks instead of having your traditional toast with butter and jam, try eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich instead. That’ll give you something different to look forward to for breakfast each morning. Sometimes I’m in the mood for a chocolate cookie, but I just don’t have the time for it, because it’s noon and I have a large group of people to get to, so I might as well take my time.

Take your time to think about what you like, whether you want a smoothie or something healthier to snack on like almonds, or Greek yoghurt. It’s up to you, but try to keep that in mind the next time you feel that craving.

Imagine how many calories you’ll save by being able to eat what you want and when you want it. Some people might even think you’smarter than they are, for eating your first bite.
